Smart Parking PCN ASDA Gateshead help please.

Hi all,
I had one of these PCN's, Smart Parking wanted £40 even though the store is located in a small town where all the parking is free and I am a regular customer of the store. The store recently changed it's parking rules, it used to be a maximum of two hours with free parking after 6pm, now it's 2hrs for twenty-four hours of the day.
What I did was complain to the store manager, I do not intend to contact Smart Parking at all. As it happened I bought something from the store on the night in question, so I took the receipt. As I live locally I also took with me a handful of receipts showing that I shop there and spend considerable sums of money with them. Without to much debate the very polite store manager agreed to rescind the charge. He took a copy of the PCN in order to do so.
Go complain!
Regards,

I feel braver than ever!If ASDA agree to cancel try to get it in writing, even if you have to email them afterwards thanking them for intervening, reiterate what they say to you and ask if they would confirm their understanding of what was discussed.
It's easy for them to press the reply button with 'Yes, confirmed'.
Did you get written confirmation as per my advice above? If not, get that email off. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
