Emails on new phone

I bought a Nokia Lumia 735 yesterday and set everything up. It appears that my emails dont come through to my phone unless im connected to wi-fi, anyone have any ideals of how to sort this, should i return to 02 shop?

    Don't know the phone but it's almost certain to be a setting issue. Something along the lines of only get e-mails when connected to wi-fi.

    Doubt the phone is actually faulty.

    Can you access the web (i.e browsing) when on mobile data? If not, it's the data settings and not your email set up. Which email service?
