TalkTalk still billing me even though I left

Options
Okay, so the bill is for £0.00, but why are they sending me a bill in September when I moved to BT in mid July? They even part refunded my "final" bill in August.

I'm not overly worried about this, but you know what these companies are like - before you know it they've blacklisted you at the credit reference agencies due to some c0ck-up on their part.

Best to just ignore it?

PS: why is "c0ck-up" censored in these posts? How bloody stupid!

    Hi Gingerbob,

Its possible to recieve bills after you leave us. When you leave its likely to be in the middle of a billing period. As such a bill is produced the following month showing any pro-rata refunds for advance charges (such as line rental and tariff) in addition to final call charges upto the date of disconnection.

If this bill requires a payment, then a further final invoice is produced the month after (again on your standard bill date) showing that the payment has been made and the account is at £0. If no payment si made further bills would be sent and the collection path followed.

However we have a duty to provide a full and accurate record of all your bills, hence why you might only now be receiving the final statement of the account, showing the account balance has been cleared in full. This is exactly how to avoid mess ups that result in Debt Collection activities, by providing a full audit trail of all transactions and confirmation of the closure of the account.

    Cheers
