Leaving talktalk and getting line rental back

Options
I have a few questions about leaving talktalk. I've never switched my broadband provider before but have read on MSE that i dont need to contact TT directly i can simply go through the new provider. My question is if i do this do i still need to contact TT to get my line rental paid upfront refunded? I'm in contract but can leave in next 30 days because of the price increases. Thanks in advance.

The new ISP will not give you TT line rental refund .

    TT say.
If you have value line rental TalkTalk has confirmed you will be refunded any unused months left on your contract if you decide to cancel.

    Hi Icemonkey,

If you are still in contract you will still need to give us a call. The reason for this is the early termination fee on the contract is applied automatically. For this to be waived you need to speak to a loyalty agent and explain your reasons for leaving the service, who can then manually waive the charge.

If you just leave by contacting a new ISP (which is perfectly possible o do), the early termination fee would get applied automatically, so its best to do this in advance.

IN regards to the Value Line Rental Payment, you will see a credit for the unused amount on your bill date after the line is disconnected, alongside any final refunds for advanced payments for line rental and tariff and final charges for calls upto the date of disconnection.

Once this invoice is produced you can contact us to request the credit is refunded to you, either direct to your bank or via cheque.

    Cheers

also don't forget, a lot will charge you for a new line when moving from people like talktalk
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
