one I don,t know
neighbour has managed to get locked out on a win 7 machine , she cannot d/load or do anything as she is not logged in as admin , she does not know the admin password , she can however log in with her hubbies account , but I think she is still restricted on d/loads
quick google says command prompt (admin) type XXXX , how can she go in as admin , she cannot loggin as admin?
pendrive at the ready , any ideas ?

find cmd in All Programs list > Accessories, right-click and Run as Admin...
....or, boot from Hiren's BootCD and use the Offline Password Editor to delete all the user account passwords
......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

You can use the sticky keys hack (google it)
Or if you are not confident with that kind of thing, you can use a konboot cd (google it)
You will need the "paid for" version of konboot though with it being windows 7
It doesn't cost much

LOL not much use if the user doesn't know the admin password !
no, but if it's the 'hidden' admin account, the default is no password
...although admittedly, the likleyhood of it being "that" admin account sound pretty slim..
back to plan B - Hiren's (and it's free
) ......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

it's the obvious least-hassle method to try, that's why... however for passwords it's more often than not the case you need to boot from an external source.....
..hence it's Plan B

ok thanks all I did try the hyran thing ,actually with no success !!
the machine was a very old (ide) thing and crumbling with 1g of memory , so I sacrificed a gigabite h81 board and a g3258 and 4 g of memory I had spare for a token price , then she had the cheek to admire the SSD that was left in my box , yup its gone
charged em £145 all in , will keep em going for a while (until win 10 is replaced!)
yup try to get a box to try the openelec on , ps I have an old boot scraper here now , you can have , but its IDE!0 -
No chance I have smart TV's that work with dlna, Humax Foxsats with twonky, WD Live Hub, and a NAS all of which work beautifully together, and an asus router that completes the set but I will try and check out in the near future....just an idea I wonder if VLC with stream from your W10 box to openelec.enfield_freddy wrote: »....snipped

no tried vlc first , closest is win 10 film and tv , there is a streaming app button , it sees the nuc/xbmc , connects then says failure , this is stupid , because you can right click on the file and "cast" , I was hoping for the fast forward/stop/rewind function of a media player0
