Original parking ticket from UKParking control. Didn't appeal. Now received letter from DRP. I ignore, right? Please confirm. I have read all the threads and newbie stickiess. My only concern is when I click on the links about various debt collectors the advice given is from a year ago or more. Just genuinely want to make sure that the advice is still current. Thanks in advance.

never say never, it could happen, they have 6 years to make it happen
although you say the threads or posts are out of date, they are kept up to date so the advice is current, despite what it says on the posted date
always look at the bottom of the post to see when it was last updated, which is up to date even if the date is some time ago, if it needs updating, coupon-mad will update it
post #4 says thisLast edited by Coupon-mad; 07-06-2015 at 6:16 PM.0 -
Hi - 2nd letter received from DRP, still ignore? Planning to. Redx - so did your post mean they can still take me to court within 6 years from date of the parking ticket? Sorry this has worried me? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks0

any PARKING COMPANY that issues an invoice (or any other company or individual) can try to enforce that invoice by taking you to small claims court (now known as an MCOL)
that has always been the case since 1973 , so no idea why its news to you
this could be a window company , plumber , retailer , hotel , contractor , anybody that deems you owe them some money for an unpaid invoice
but the DEBT COLLECTOR (like DRP) cannot take you or me to court for these parking issues , which is why we tell you to ignore DRP (or any debt collector) and only come back if or when court papers arrive within 6 years of the alleged "offence" , which is what quentin was telling you
so we are only repeating what has been posted on this forum so many times its become "boring" , lol
so I can assure you that the thread title is incorrect , as its about boring debt collector letters yet again , this is no longer about parking, its about debt collectors and "possible" court action
read this thread, posts #10 and #11

The timeframe for bringing a civil claim in England and Wales is 6 years.
While UKPC are not currently litigious, they have 6 years to change their mind. The current advice is to appeal.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Thanks Redx, I promise not to bore you again, I'll just keep ignoring DRP/Zenith/whoever...but not the courts
ManxRed, am too late to appeal
