If I've done my sums right, after paying the Coop £60 to ditch them I would be £10 better off.

    Worth the hassle of changing?

Yes! to get away from the Coop's crappy web site.

Just set the switch in motion, how do I get the £30 cashback which I had not put into my calculations so £40 better off and no more Coop web site?
over 73 but not over the hill.

    Hi there

Cashback normally takes around 3 months to come through. Assuming you pay by direct debit it'll go straight into your bank account (we'll send you an email to let you know). If not, we'll send it out by cheque.

Hope that helps and that your switch goes smoothly.

    Hi mihaid

Do you mean the last MSE Collective Switch with E.ON? This was available from 28 October 14 to 6 November 14. If you do and you're already one of our customers, there's no exit fees for changing from one E.ON tariff to another.

Sorry if I've misunderstood mihaid and am barking up the wrong tree.

You understood well. Thank you for the answer.

You're welcome mihaid. Glad to help.

    Have a good weekend.

What is the point of using exact Kwh numbers when doing comparisons if the prices displayed are calculated using this stupid TCR?

the comparison tool says annual fee £1028 but my actual bill based on the standing charge plus consumption is £1058.
30 pounds is quite a big difference.
  • I switched to this on the 17th (electric only, so there were big savings against any other options at the moment) and have my confirmation email from MSE to say thank you for switching, but I've heard nothing directly from E.on as yet (or my current supplier). Normally when switching through a comparison site I've had a confirmation from the supplier straight away too. Is this normal?

    Hi firsttimemover

You're not the only one. I also applied to switch (again Electricity only) on 15th & I have not heard a dicky bird from E.ON, although I did immediately receive the confirmation email from MSE.

On Saturday I emailed MSE & received a holding email which suggested that I contact the new supplier. So I did this & they weren't at all keen on following this up. They said I should contact MSE. I said that I'd done that & that MSE had make the suggestion that I should contact E-ON.

This morning I've had an email from MSE & they are now following this up. In the meantime I'm now between a rock & a hard place & no longer sure if my switch will go ahead??

This is the first time in 3 years that I've switched. So much for it being simple.

    Hi Firsttimemover

I'm sorry to hear you've not had any communication through from Eon. It is worth double-checking your spam mail as we do sometimes hear that mails get stuck in there.

First point of call for an update is to contact Eon directly (contact details on this page).
    https://cheapenergyclub.moneysavingexpert.com/collectiveswitch#faqsone

If after calling you're still stuck, let us know and we'll ask Eon to check the status for you.

    I hope this helps.
  • That's brilliant, thanks for your help.

I've given them a call and they've said all the welcome info should be with me in the post by the end of the week and everything is going through fine.

Definitely nothing in my spam/junk folder and he didn't seem surprised that I didn't have an email.

Sorry firsttimemover but just spotted your query.

Glad you've been in touch and your Welcome Pack is on the way (thanks for posting contact details Dan). The pack will give you all the information including the prices and contract terms. If you've registered with our website, you can keep an eye on how things are going through the 'Track My Switch' tool.

Let me know if you've any other issues, I'll try to respond a bit quicker.
