iPhone 5s deals

Options
My iphone 4 is finally giving up the ghost after 4.5 years (I've replaced the battery and restored but it is performing uselessly).

I have a £5/month SIM only contract with virgin that I am happy with so am looking for an actual phone only.

I'm finding looking for the best deal on a new 16gb iphone 5s quite confusing. The cheapest deals look dodgy (either the company or not clear if refurbished).

How much should I realistically be paying? Any reputable cheap companies? Any good combinations with cashback sites?

Thanks

  • Apple appear to go "the extra mile" on products bought directly from them. There have been issues with phones from shops/networks on here that needed warranty work where the shop said talk to Apple and vice versa...

I have a couple of iPhones that were purchased directly from Apple, one developed a switch fault and was replaced under warranty (at around 10 months old) with no problem.

A friend took her UK Apple purchased iPad to an Apple store in Spain and had it replaced without any problem, it was over 12 months old. Apple Spain said it was covered by a 2 year Europe wide warranty, even though in the UK the warranty is only mentioned as being 12 months.

For the small difference in price, I would go directly to Apple to avoid possible issues in the future.

If Apple were the retailer they give 24 months warranty in the UK as well, they call is consumer law cover for the second 12 months.

  • You might want to wait a week as there's an Apple announcement next week which will probably have an effect on prices of older stock.
