Is frugal the new normal?

Am busy at the moment frugally drinking up the booze cupboard before I move - I used to do quite a few fun co!ktail parties (one for example where everyone had to come dressed as aliens - all co!ktails were renamed - so Blue Moon became Andorian Delight - it was my 50th birthday) So have been drinking some v strange stuff - gin and grenadine makes even the roughest stuff go down!!! (sorry gin purists - you are probably yelling at your computer now!
)
Frugally also today - was passing Mr M at 6.45ish and so popped in to see if there was any YS - found loads of bread; some cheese and 2 lemons for £1.79 but was v good and resisited the YS cream tarts and YS doughnuts!! :j
PLEASE tell me it will do both me and the money situation good!!!! ???:A

Yeah, but it's a fun window into OS life - we can squeeze a penny til it squeals and still enjoy a drinkie.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Frugadence, I love it
Just seen a notice in the local paper that says Lidl is applying for planning permission to have a shop on the site where we'd been told we were going to get an AldiThere's already a Lidl within easy reach.

Before that we lived the typical consumerist lifestyle (we are Thatcher's children) and had racked up a lot of debt. Tbh I think we are happier now than we ever were before, we eat better and actually enjoy the challenge of growing our own, recycling/mending and learning os skills.
My mummy friends from school think we are pretty strange, even tho they all do the shabby chic thing albeit straight out of cath kidson/laura Ashley/white company.
Suppose that's the joy of living in Harrogate though!
Harrogate was made to be shabby chic! I mean the houses on Duchy Road scream Shabby Chic. I think a lot of the shops have also cottoned on and charity shop prices have sky rocketedMoney money money.

Can frugadence also be applies to cheese? I got 2 x packs of Epoisses for 99p each from the Co Op a couple of days ago, use by date 15th October and really, it's not 'ripe' yet so is in the fridge to be enjoyed when it softens up a little, treasure trove!!!0

Frugadence yes I think we can let it have a shifting definition......:rotfl:
So yes premium gin, good wine, luscious rich chocolate, posh cheese, smelly candles, ............ And that cute little dress in TK Maxx -oops - how did that get there.......
As Austins Powers would say
"Yeah baby, whatever is your bag"
Speaking of bags..........Nah I'm not into designer bags but I do like a good quality leather bag .......and gloves ......and shoes.......;)
Oops here I go again..........
you can see now why I need to practice "frugadence" :rotfl:0
