Two places to get THE best prices from in the first place.

www.dmxdimension.com - all the best value machines and deals on them. Links you directly to dell if you so desire (though better to note down the evalue code and go via quidco for cashback)

www.hotukdeals.com - down right hand side, search for dell.

haha, granted it wasnt the best looking example, other places like SCAN sell some better looking ones.

You're choice though, just wanted to highlight the fact there is plenty of choice out there other than Dell.
    Titch :)

Unfortunately thats a good example of why Outlet isnt always the best place to buy dell machines - for kick off the 1520 is no longer made, so its an outdated model, also by checking www.dmxdimension.com, its successor running a faster processor, and vista home premium instead of home basic can be had for just £14 more.

There are some good deals around on dell outlet, so its worth checking, but a lot of the deals are just 'ok' at best.

Im not a laptop expert i just plucked that one from the hundreds on there, you have to dig around on the Outlet to find what you are after

Im looking for a XPS 420 and the savings are around £150 off the main site on certain ones :)

Yes, i agree totally. Just flagging that its worth cross checking with the likes of dmxdimension as often the deals that they can point you to arent even listed on Dells site.

Plus in fairness to them, the further up the range you go, the more likely the savings will be on outlet.

I've bought loads of Outlet and have definitely saved £££'s doing so, yet othertimes i've looked and thought OMG you cant seriously be asking that
  • thanks for all your help guys.
I have looked at the links provided by you all and they are still quite expensive and they are refurbished.

i contacted a guy at dell who was recommended on this site and he has offered the following for £409 all in. As long as he agrees to adding the webcam and spring green colour, i will bite his hand off!!

    Just to update you....

i've ordered my laptop as above, with web cam and spring green colour for £412.

Am more than happy as i was initially after a laptop with less specs and that would have cost me £435.
This exact specification would have been £485 online - tried to squeeze microsoft word or a bag (i know huge difference in price) but he said he couldn't do it as the system had been hugely discounted so much as it was - i did try again with him but he said he couldn't - not to worry, in my eyes i have a bargain!!

thanks for all your help everyone.
