BT & Talk Talk Issues

I have moved house recently and asked to move my phone and broadband number and provider with me - BT are my provider.
I moved and then got a bill from BT saying I have cancelled my service and they sent me a massive bill. I phoned BT who said they had a request to change my broadband service and they wont tell me who it is but said I still need to pay the cancellation fee! I believe the "new provider" is Talk Talk as we have had post for the previous owner.
What can I do?
Do I have to pay the cancellation fee, even though I asked to move my services with me from my old address to my new address?
Do I need to talk to Talk Talk and asked why they have requested to take over my BT broadband service?
Any help greatly appriciated.
kind regards
Wayne

Did BT confirm in writing to you that they would move the phone and broadband to your new address? They usually do.
It sounds like BT have done nothing about moving your phone and broadband and sent you the final bill for your old address which includes cancellation charges which you would not have to pay if they confirmed the transfer.
Don't contact Talktalk until you have sorted it out with BT.0
