Sending text messages from abroad?

Hi all. I work abroad a lot and am currently on o2 because they take the messages out of my bundle rather than charge me. Does anyone know if any other network does this?

I'm upgrading tomorrow, and am leaning towards the 50 online texter deal which is 50 a month for 1200 any time any network minutes, 1000 texts and unlimited any network calls Saturday-Monday.
Getting there... A deal at a time. :T

As far as I'm aware, O2 is unique in this, though perhaps there are some business contracts we don't know much about.

For other country destinations, there are some threads here discussing cheap options that use a mobile Java client program to send an equivalent via wap/grps data, such as Vyke, smsbug, vgsmail, for from a couple of cents each, plus about the same charge from your network for the data. At the moment, the Betamax VoIP clone Voipbuster has free messages like this, but this isn't likely to be a long-term offer

Sorry this isn't too clear to me, are we talking about sending one text, but having >1 texts debited from the bundle instead of paying?

Is this UK to abroad or abroad to UK?

    Correct

When roaming, an O2 contract SIM still uses up the inclusive texts, at a rate of 4 for 1

If you want to send messages to abroad from here, read other threads about this - do a search on here for one of those brands, such as Vyke

I don't think ANY other network provides this service. Only O2 - I like them, they are great. Mind you I am with CPW so much better than direct!

This is also true for MMS, O2 charge you 4 texts and not seperately like other networks which is great as I have 750 text each month!!!!

Thanks all. I think I'll stick with o2 then. My friend who lives down the road from me is having lots of network problems with 3.
