Have yourself a Crafty Christmas

Options
Hi all,

In my efforts to stash bust (and because money is a lot tighter this year after hubby having to take a pay cut after redundancy struck!) I have decided to try and make lots of my Christmas Presents this year.

So welcome to the "Crafty Christmas" thread.

I shall attempt to post pictures of my makes on here and anyone else who has ideas, links or have made their own gifts are more than welcome to post as I need all the inspiration I can get :)

My first job is making a list of all the people I need to make presents for :)

I look forward to seeing everyones ideas. I plan to make some reusable shopping bags, very handy now we are going to have to pay for carrier bags, something like a Morsbag (morsbag.com). I am looking for ideas for my childrens' school Xmas Bazaar. So far I have made some octopus' out of some wool I was given and some gnomes.

  • Adore the gnomes, & would love to make some. They don't look too difficult if you got the pattern online please post a link to it.

    Thanks

    Hi
I don't have patterns/instuctions for either. I had a woollen octopus as a child and thought I would have a go at making one (ten made now!). They are very quick and easy. If you google how to make a woollen or yarn octopus there are lots of instructions and tutorials. I used a ball of toy stuffing in the head to fill it out a little more.
I will try to draw the pattern and add instructions for the gnomes and upload it later.

Last year I bought a plain hessian stocking and decorated it with buttons and felt hearts for my mum, as she'd said the previous year that she'd never had a stocking :)

this year I am thinking of getting one of these and decorating it with words or pictures cut from old fabric. she likes her tote bags when she's shopping and they'll come in handy now with the carrier bag charge
