  • Oh interesting, I can see the signs now but we never went that far down, we were literally as the red car is in the google map.
  • I agree should have noticed the signs but didn't. We didn't actually park as such, just pulled in and picked up. £200 for 2 pick ups still a bit steep don't you think? Still worth appealing don't you think?
  • tricky , yes you should appeal , however it a very thin bit of road , with yellow lines , ok we know they mean nothing on private land , and there was reasonable signage

you are guilty as such , Its the amount that you need to focus on , how much is a typical council ticket in that area?
  • No idea tbh, never had one before (certainly no where near £100)!. Now I'm thinking I am going to have to pay it and will loose an appeal, was feeling quite positive before. Really cross about the whole thing, just going to have to focus the appeal on the amount I think and hope for the best. Will use all the advice given on here and take it from there. Thanks for your help.

A FOI request to the Council should ascertain the status and ownership of the road. Whilst you're at it ask about any consents for the signage under The Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007.

Why on earth would you consider paying the scumbags that are UKPC get a POPLA code and appeal on usual grounds from Newbies thread!
  • Dear All

I just wanted to update you on my situation. I had been issued with two separate notices for "stopping in a prohibited area" in a road just by the Grand Arcade in Cambridge each being a charge of £100.00 back in July. After finding this thread, I followed all the advice given and appealed the first one using the template letter in the main MSE page and the 2nd one using the online appeal template in the Newbies thread and after not hearing anything I also sent a letter using the template. I had the first one cancelled a couple of weeks ago and have today received a letter cancelling the 2nd one. I am writing to thank you all for the work you do and the advice you give because if it wasn't for all the information and links given here I would have probably paid the £200.00. Many thanks to you all.

    Je Suis Cecil.
  • did they give reasons?

or was it perhaps that they were working on public land? , I think a bit of additional checking should be done , the daily *ail would love a story like this , additionally according to the IPC , any further infringments by UKPC , would definatly (cough) get them booted out
