Iphone 5s-no bluetooth connectivity

I have had a new iphone 5s for a year now and the only bluetooth device i can connect to is a handsfree earpiece. In the bluetooth options, i can see other bluetooth devices such as my lappy but click> connect>doesnt work.
If i clear the bluetooth devices list and let it search for other bluetooth devices, all i see is the spinning wheel and nothing else.
This seems like a problem for a lot of iphgone users. How can this be?

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Bluetooth is locked down by Apple, you can't connect to other devices to transfer files for example. Apart from connecting to audio devices and the Apple Watch, that's about all you can do with BT on an iPhone.0

Really? Wow..thats incredible. So the simplicity of using BT to send something to a friend is not there?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
