Gmail login problem

I accessed my gmail (successfully) many moons ago from a different computer, and I got a message in my inbox about some suspicious activity on my account, knowing it was myself I wasn't bothered.

I tried again on the weekend from the same "other computer address" and it did not let me in, despite my password being correct.

I am home now and just logged in to google, and it forced me to change my password. "Someone else knows your password" .... No option was given to me like:

*"That's ok, I know it was me" Do Not reset password.

So I have reset it, but I still need to access from that other computer. I don't want it to force me to change my password again. So what can I do?

    I found that if you register a mobile number for your account they'll send you a verification code to your phone whenever their system picks up potentially suspicious behaviour.
  • this don't happen to me , how are you logging on ? from google UK homepage /top right /gmail

    or are you going in thru outlook etc

    Is there anyway to turn off that suspicious alert? It's annoying, especially as I often use incognito mode because I don't want to be logged out of my current Google account.

    Edit: Found how to do this;

    On your Gmail mail box look at the bottom right corner and you can see a Details button. Click on it and then on the pop up window change the suspicious warning settings.

    Ok but if I change that to "never show an alert"

    Does that mean they will still block my access from a different computer and not tell me about it in an email and still force me to change my password..

    Or does that mean
    I will be able to login from anywhere?

    I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.
