Train Travel - 2 for 1 ? Advice Please

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie and need some advice. I'm taking elderly parent to London and am travelling from Peterborough. Does anyone know if there are any 2 for 1 deals on? I'd love to save a bit so I could give my Mum a fab day out. Thanks a bunch

    Firstly welcome to MSE.

There's loads of tips for London on the cheap, see the following threads that are already active: From a personal Point of View I booked Apex rail tickets in advance and took advantage of the 2 for 1. Throughly recommend the City Cruise, perfect for older person who wants to see the sights but can't do it all on foot Also booked evening meals using top table. Wouldn't have found them if it wasn't for the guys at MSE:j . Saved me a fortune over a weekend. Also don't be tempted by supposed cheap theatre tickets, there's only one place to go and thats tkts. You don't book in advance and need to go in person in the afternoon to see whats on offer.
:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:

    Hi guys

Thanks so much for your help. Did the City Cruise and Theatre (Acorn Antiques). It was an absolute scream, my Mum was in fits of laughter, I'd have paid anything for that.

Prior to travelling I gave her a few little instructions - 'Don't worry about my bag, it's zipped up', 'Keep close to me and maintain your own space'. Well the bag one worked but she did forget the other and hesitated when getting on the tube - you guessed it..... I'm on the tube and she's waving to me from the platform mouthing 'sorry - where am I? I did go back and get her and from then on we stuck together!

    Happy Days
