Airport parking- car hire??

Hi

Has anyone tried to hire a car for the day and use it to take you to the airport instead of using car parking? I'm just trying to reduce the cost, currently £72 to park at Stansted for 13 days, which just seems a mad about of money.

One way car hire will probably be more expensive. When do you want to travel?

We used to do this a lot at work - OK someone else was paying but it wasn't overly expensive or they'd have told us to take the train.

Of course you would have to hire again to return so it would work out twice the expense.

i have looked in to this for us and youhave to pay an extra charge on top of the hire cost

Never mind I just hate paying too much for stuff. Any good ideas for cheap parking at Stansted? We are leaving on 8 september to 21 september

Best I can find is £72.10 for 14 day @ Pink Elephant(assumes you pick up later time than drop off)

If you're close to stanstead a taxi each way might be cheaper

Hi ,I have just booked a park + fly deal through holiday extras for £89 its at the Holiday in by stanstead,much better to pay for an overnight + enjoy it and for only £17 more than parking alone..........gets the hols off to a lovely relaxed start too.............may not be for you but its a nice treat
