Scissors to make holes
You mean with no hem? just make small holes in the fleece and thread the hook through that hole and then onto the main curtain using a free hole - or whatever that bit is called on a curtain that you thread a hook through?
exactly
ETA Right, I've kind of got you, except What is the spike? The pointy end of the curtain hook in the picture?right again
Now that I have reread my terrible instructions I am rather delighted you got what I meant. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to explain Jackie. It means I can at least try to make the home a bit warmer. In particular DD's bedroom which is north facing and is freezing in winter, despite being double glazed. I think the fittings/hinges have dropped as there's a veritable gale comes through the edges window when it's closed, like it doesn't pull shut tightly enoughknithappens wrote: »Hippeechiq -- i can lay a laminate wood floor, but cannot put up a shelf, or use a drill without removing half the plaster on the wall lol

I've got to:
[STRIKE]
Buy DS some warm winter clothes, I went into primark on Saturday but they don't seem to have got rid of the tshirts and shorts yet.
[/STRIKE]
Myself and [STRIKE]DS[/STRIKE] need some new slippers.
Make up a car kit for OH, he is starting uni in a town a fair distance away and will be commuting in. He's been driving for a year or so now but he's never driven in really bad weather. I'm so worried in case the weather turns like it did last year  Got some good ideas from the posts above.
Prepare to use the heating more readily this year, there will be a new arrival in the household in september.
[STRIKE]Dig the polar fleeces out for the evening, I bought a load cheap from ebay last year and cut them up.[/STRIKE]
Sort the slow cooker out from the cupboard for lots of hearty OS stews.
Make some curtains to keep the heat in the bathroom (only got a blind at the mo).
Line my bedroom curtains, they are a bit thin. Maybe get a blind too?
I don't need to:
Put the thick quilts back on the beds, i did this a couple of days ago. How freezing is it at night now!!
Put the door curtains back up to stop drafts, I didn't take them down over the winter. How lazy is that!
Buy any winter clothes or blankets for the baby due in september, I've been given a load and they all look really warm :money:0 -
i got out all the fleece under sheets the other day washed and popped in airing cupboard, stocked up with staples in my kitchen cupboards, have made appointment to get boiler serviced im making my girls blankets for their beds atm just for added warmth for when it gets colder im sure theres more but have brain freeze at the moment:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0
