It's warmer today so I'm feeling less "wintry" today but might get back into my sock knitting today.
You would be amazed at the extra space we have now the old stove, which was over 20 years old and not really in very good condition, has gone, the new one will go back in the hole rather than standing proud as the old one did.
I am so looking forward to it arriving sometime this week......watch this space......Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

wow ilove wood burners. Your all so lucky who have one. WEll tbh we could have one as we have an open fireplace in the dining room . already with the chimney liner in it. but not sure it would be cost effective having one in the dining room when we mainly use the lounge ? would it warm rest of house. the wood burner would have to be a very small one due to size of opening etc. and due to size of dining table the chairs when someone is sat there is about 1ft away. wonder if that is too close, and would give burnt legs ?
Well i really think summer is gone now. the isle of wight is very very windy and raining, the sky is so grey and can't see into the vally as it all misty due to the rain. and it has a real auntumy feel to it. i can't imagine putting a halter neck or boob tube on again. But it is gorgeous. i'm a really snuggle bum. but i just wanna get down beach with kids and play in the sand and go paddling and finish day with a chip supper. but need thermals to go to beach today.0 -

Hardly seems worth getting a new cooker :rotfl:
Wish it was a new cooker, could do with one of those two, the one in the cottage came out of the arc....the 'stove' is a multi fuel stove for the sitting room........

csarina, im jealouse, hope it goes well without too much mess hassle etc.
managed to stock up on the odd tin of soup and couple of cartons of milk cheap in the shop i work (and still keeping an eye out for a bargain where i can on such things), but need to try and get my head together for the rest of the stuff i probably need to get/keep an eye out for.
such as wellies, buying/making another draught excluder, soting out some sort of curtain for my balcony door.0 -
