Sorry marie:rotfl:
I have to explain to hubby why 24 balls of wool are winging there way here!!
Kittie business went under 2 yrs ago ...........bancruptcy and everthing I see it as a positive now as i am a lot less stressed than i was towards the end.......................my bankruptcy hearing was 2 days before i got married
The cafe was great it just wasn't busy enough i should have stuck with just doing the outside catering as that paid but my heart wasn't in it in the end*****

very proud of myself, yesterday i made my son a duvet cover for his cot duvet from an old sheet which we no longer needed. He loved it last night. it been quite cold at night here recently. but he just wriggled down and snuggled into his bed.
Also went and bought our new carpet today. we were going to have a wood floor in our lounge but decided that carpet would make it warmer. it is coming monday, so hubby got lots to do as were still sanding walls, lol. but carpet right had 10 % off on top of their 25 % sale prices so we got the carpet at a really good price.
wow hope i can find a good deal on curtains at a charity shop. i need 3 pairs big enough for patio door size windows. i am hoping to try and find some very very thick velvety ones. which will keep us very snuggly in our lounge this winter.
daytime i is very warm here so nice to be able to get washing on line, but i am so in winter mode. i need grey skys and rain.0 -
Aw sorry to hear that Shaz, glad BC has set you free. Just noticed your sig, my father lives in N Lincs lol.
Well done jcr, have you tried asking on freecycle? If, as I suspect, velvet curtains aren't the modern thing of the day then I would imagine you could pick some up on there?
Even the the cheaper velour curtains are really good and thick.
Are there any pubs doing a refurb where you live? Maybe it's worth an ask.
Good luck in the charity shops, I haven't been shopping (apart from food shopping) since before last xmas and there are loads of charity shops in Ponty now.

Have you all got your draught excluders made?
What is everyone making them out of?
Cheers

I sewed two shirt sleeves together and stuffed with cut up stockings.!
I used the body of the shirt to make a cushion cover, and it went to somebody on here who liked it.
I looked at a cover to go on the bed in my local charity shop, and as it was white, (well should have been white). I thought it would be great for my BF, who likes white duvet covers, but they wanted £40!!! for it, so soryy BF but I cannot affort that.
Infact since the Help the Aged, and Age concern joined forces the prices have shot up, and no more cheap manager special rails on the things that had been there a while, now they are off to the rag man!!! :mad:When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I love Kemps wool clearances, too. Got my lovely ultra chunky wool from them for my posh poncho last year. The pattern was from them, too. Only about 35p I seem to recall.
Edited - just checked. It's 20p now.

Aw that's a shame Mooloo.
The shop I had my curtains from had a couple of patchwork quilts that looked quite nice but I didn't bother looking at the price though.
I don't think I shall be making draught excluders since from past experience they got on my nerves lolKarma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000
