Put the flannelette sheets on the bed and got out the goose down duvet over the weekend - now feel like a hamster in the morning, all curled up and very very toasty! Mind you I get too hot in the middle of the night and then wake up with frozen feet as I've stuck them out to cool off.
Can only really emphasis what I said last year - the way to go for bedtime is definitely 2 single duvets for a couple. No more draughty gaps/tents or having the duvet pulled off when one male shaped person turns over!0 -
Have to thank everyone who mentioned putting a duvet under the bottom sheet, to use as part insulation/part pillow top. Had a couple of old ones that I was planning to take to a charity shop so popped them both under there and I can't believe how cosy it is!!!Sanity is the playground of the unimaginative!0

Ohhhh now I know what I am going to make in my textile class (after dying my long johns with the onion peel): a Quillo!

:hello: aw shucks thanksyes we're all fine thanks!
Yes they're all my own work I sold these on Ebay when I used to trade on there (no time now sadly) I can usually run up a 'plain' one (no patchwork) in about half an hour now as I've made soooo many and I have an industrial machine which goes like the clappers!!
With the patchwork ones,I tend to destress at my sewing machine and theres something mindnumbingly soothing about pieceing up panels :rotfl: so I throw a few together when I get a chance then make them up into quilts etc when I have enough readymade.
The quiltpanels you can get on ebay u.s are ideal for these as they have pillow panels with them too like this one
ideal for kiddies xmas pressies while being very practical0 -
Where are all the 'non' girly tights?
My ds wears them during the winter and last year asda and woolies had tonnes of navy, black, red and cream ones a boy can easily get away with wearing those under his trousers but now all i can find are pink/purp/flowery and sparkley.
Where are they? I want the thick wooly ones not denier or regular tights.
What size would he need? I have a bag full my girls have just outgrown and you are quite welcome to the 'neutral' ones if they'll fit..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
