Hi all,
I have supplied a couple of previous threads on this topic.
I have now managed to burn the ISO image onto DVD using Imgburn.
Just to remind you. I have got XP 2002 SP3 home edition.
I can see the WBI.exe, boot folder, casper folder, etc. on the ISO image on the DVD but I am still not able install ubuntu after changing my BIOS boot up options to load from CD-ROM only.
Anyone please advise me what to do next.

hopefully without opencandy?
did you use the correct imgburn option, if yes, double check the bios options
if you're venturing down this avenue because someone suggested you'd have fewer problems than with xp, you won't.Don't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -

Note sure what you mean ?
I don't recall anything about opencandy so assume it is not relevant to me.
I don't recall anything about bios settings with imgburn. If just used F12 key as I was rebooting to change bios settings.
You have stated 'if you're venturing down this avenue because someone suggested you'd have fewer problems than with xp, you won't.'
Yes I have gone down the route after advise on this forum. If there is a better way, please let me know.
Many thanks.0 -
if you ignored the warnings in the previous thread, and accepted defaults and terms of use during installation, you may have installed something that needs to be disposed of. Use malwarebytes
the different route is to ignore advice about ubuntu, continue with xp, or upgrade your machine - as you're finding it's turning out to be a lot of hassle, and that's before you've used it.
bios settings and imgburn are two different issues, the question was exactly how was this disc created, if it is bootable, and you're timing the f12 correctly, you need to double check the bios settings for boot order putting the dvd/cd first.Don't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0 -

Fair enough but can you give me specific advice as I can't see what I am doing wrong.0 -

It does not boot. It says something like 'Press F1 to reboot or F2 to go into system setup'.
