Moving house - internet provider does not service new area

Hi
I have 9 months left with Virgin Media on an 18 month contract and am moving house next month. I've discovered Virgin do not service the area I'm moving to and will charge me £240 to end my contract early. They have offered a £100 off voucher if we sign up with someone else (not clear entirely how this works yet).
Does anyone know if I have any rights to not pay the cancellation fee given they do not service the area? It seems a bit unfair on the consumer. I was happy to continue with my contract, and indeed only discovered this when I phoned to organise the move.
thanks you

And they would be happy to continue providing the service but you decided to move somewhere they couldn't. So not exactly VM's fault is it?0

See multiple identical posts .
Basics are you have a valid contract that you are breaking not Virgin .
Death or bankruptcy will void the contract without payment .0 -
You are contracted at the existing address, and VM do not guarantee universal availability. So they can and will charge you the full ETC.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Did you get a letter about the Increase in XLTV fee? If so you can cancel because of that0
