Hi I sold my car and when I let London Congestion Charge now to change my car registered with them I was charged £10.
Who comes up with this. Its extortion as it takes a minute to do on the system and you have no choice.

OP edited for you!
Hi I sold my car and when I let [the] London Congestion Charge dept know [the registration number of the new car] and asked them to update the details they have on file for me I was charged [an administration fee ?] of £10.
There you go. I think this is what the OP meant.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

OP - if you register for Autopay, which I assume you have done, the charge is £10 per vehicle per year. Hence you have had to pay £10 for your new vehicle.
This is all set out in the T&Cs.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Yes, thats right. Sorry but I think thats an outlandish charge. New car not working very well, will probably have to change and pay another £10.
Hope your day is blessed with peace0
