I had a similar problem in the end I phoned up a pc tech and they came round and ran their anti virus software on it. Well worth the cost.

Iv dealt with machines with identical issues many many times.

Usually, by the time they are at the point of having the "call to fix" pop-ups, they are beyond the realms of fixability from the likes of malwarebytes etc ..

In my experience, once a Trojan dropper is on the system, and has been allowed to run for any leangth of time, it has installed hundreds and hundreds of instances of malware, and the simple task of even opening up malwarebytes software from a USB stick takes hours and is extremely painful.

I did manage to clean(ish) one, but It took literally days and millions of restarts and routing deep in the registry etc etc etc etc ..

Mate, just bit the bullet, get your windows disks out and go for the re-install.

That's what you will end up doing in the end anyway - I promise you.

While your at it, get your phone out, hide your ID and phone the number (its free)

Ask to speak to RAJ, he gets the most irate, and just wind him up constantly for fun while you are sat re-installing your machine - Its worth a giggle

Oh, and if you do, then tell him your name is "Mr Bogus" - I had a right laugh wasting his time

Next door neighbor had very similar issues and had even gone so far as to phone one of the numbers who wanted to charge her $640 to fix everything. Worryingly she had let them install a Citrix client on her laptop before her son knocked on my door.
Rather than rebuild the laptop I managed to install a trial version of Avast premium, ran a boot scan, which quarantined close to 600 dodgy files. Then ran Malwarebytes which picked up a further 340 'infections'. Deleted the lot (had made a restore point first). Took hours to do, but machine is all good now. Did notice that at some point someone had downloaded DNS unlocker which probably caused all the problems, but I suspect this was done by her grand children when downloading games.
Depending upon your point of view this may or may not be as quick as re-installing windows :)

Providing you have the windows installation cd, you could as an administrator use the built in 'sfc /scannow' command.

This will inspect all of the important Windows files on your computer, including Windows DLL files. If System File Checker finds an issue with any of these protected files, it will replace it.

Personally if i get a friends virus pc, I boot with linux Mint from usb and install a/v package and scan the whole disk, then boot into windows and depending on the results of the lunux scan may run SFC, then install malwarebytes, often I download the free 'Process explorer', sometime I check the host file, sometimes a different companies on-line virus scanner to double check, and finally check for windows updates.

On my pc, Instead of using taskmanager, i use 'process explorer', and every few days i check process explorer, as it takes seconds to do, and you become accustom to the entries, but this will not find browser embedded issues, or any embedded issues.

Make sure you have a second browser that is unpopular like Seamonkey, as this will determine if your browser, or system has been compromised.
