But what a logistical nightmare that will be. Where will they keep 100s/1000s of ready assembled cardboard boxes ready for the next day's trade?

Or how those of us manage in areas where bags already carry a fee.
It's not a problem, you just take your sturdy bags with you, or grab some boxes on the way out. Moving shopping around at home with 4 or 5 big hessian bags is much easier than 10 collapsing thin plastic bags, and easier on the hands too.

Safeway used to sell green boxes used in conjunction with the "scan as you go" approach to shopping.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0
