Alternatively, if what you say is true, you could write to
Callum Ross Scott Lindfield
Director
Debt Ace Limited
2 Greek Street
Stockport
Cheshire
SK3 8AB
Head your letter "Complaint Against Debt Ace Limited"
Tell Lindfield that his company made an unsolicited telephone call to your number and fraudulently took a payment of £X without authority from your bank/credit card account.
Demand that it is repaid with interest and a redress for the distress and inconvenience you have been caused.
Take a copy of the letter and retain it.
Get proof of posting for the original and retain that too.
If your complaint is rejected or after 9 weeks you have had no satisfactory response, go to the Legal Ombudsman.0 -
Well I've actually used verus associates after they called me to claim back on my credit cards and mortgage. I was informed about the £499 being taken. It's part of a holding deposit which was only not available on my credit card while I was waiting for my claim. Which was successfull. I got all my money and them payed them the 30% they stated it would cost upon a successful claim. We're very reliable I'd say plus the money back took a heap of weight off my shoulders haha0

This company is clearly a scam, i have reported them now to the
ministry of justice and the financial ombusman and i received my money back from my credit card company after doing a chargeback.
Anyone reading this post and finding that £499 has come out of your bank or credit card without your consent seriously just call the company and do a chargeback.
The paperwork i received was shoddy at best also and there website doesnt even work at present seriously avoid at all costs complete SCAM0 -
To all having the problem of getting back your £499.
I too was having trouble getting this back, my claim calm to an end no win no fee. So I tried to contact verus only to be told by Thompson legal they are no longer working with Verus. Not sure why? However as you can imagine I was fuming. So I took matters into my own hands and contacted TMG brokers direct.
I sent them an email explaining verus was no longer trading and my claim was at an end with no refund due and I would now like my £499 funding.
In addition to that I also wrote something along the lines of ,
If this is not dealt with in a timely manner then I will be forced to take legal action against TMG & verus stating that they were both part of an elaborate scam to deceive me out of £499.
Less than 24hrs on I have an email stating that as of today the money has been refunded back onto my credit card.
Watch this space to see if it has. Will update you when I have checked.0 -
If the money is not forthcoming, you can go to the Legal Ombudsman instead.
You could also go to your credit card provider and use Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 to get your money back but the Legal Ombudsman is preferable because, whatever its faults, it is not responsible for this particular scam.0 -
I am trying to claim back my £499 "retainer" paid to Verus Associates via Section 75 of the CCA via my Credit Card company. However, they have asked for the T&C's to which I entered the agreement (ultimately through Thomson Legal in Wales). I don't have copies of them. Can anyone help me please as Verus Assocaties are no longer trading. Surprise surprise
Many thanksThanks
