Halifax intimidate deposit machine

Simple but stupid question, I've just recently seen a 'cash and cheque' deposit machine in my local Halifax branch which wasn't there before. I've never used one and i was wondering how it works exactly? I was in a rush so I couldn't ask today, do you need your card? If so do you need to enter your PIN? Also how long does it take to go into your account if you're paying cash?
yes, I know a very stupid question, sorry :rotfl:

You enter your card and PIN. Cash is available immediately. Just the same as using a teller0

You just put the bundle of cash in and it even counts your money0

It's not very intimidating.0

I was wondering how you intimidate a deposit machine. Does it have feelings?0

You look at it aggressively, and snarl at it 'you're taking my money whether you like it or not'Early retired - 18th December 2014

Halifax to deposit machine: "You will be working 18 hours a day"
Deposit machine to Halifax: "Can I smile at customers?"
Halifax to deposit machine: "Absolutely not. And no chatting, either!"0 -
Put in your card (no pin), put in your cash, confirm on screen, DONE.
I saw a young girl the other day feeding big handfuls of notes into one, it complied it could only do 50 £20 notes at a time.0 -
Definitely worth using one of these to beat the queues. Have only used them for paying in cash. They have always counted the money accurately and promptly in my experience.
They normally count the money and then ask if you want to make the deposit, so you get the chance to say no if you disagree with the total the machine has calculated. Once the deposit is made I have been able to see the money in my account immediately.0 -
And when you pay cheques in it automatically reads the amounts, then scans them and prints a little picture of each one on the receipt, which I thought was pretty cool - though I am easily impressed!0

Do these machines accept coins?0
