Can anyone tell me how much notice you have to give BT to cancel their BB & Phone contracts ?

1 months to cancel. 2 weeks if its a migration (but this should be dealt with by whoever you are migrating to now).0

It depends on the contract. If you out of contract or prepared to pay cancellation charges then one month is probably correct.
If you are in contract then it used to be that you should give notice one month before renewal. If you are transferring to a new supplier, you may be able to do that with 2 weeks notice under the new rules?0 -
The new method no longer relies on your provider supplying you with a MAC code to transfer .
As said if you are out of contract you do everything through your new ISP .
Be aware BB and Line Rental contracts may not be concurrent .0 -
Thanks for the info. We are out of contract and hopefully moving to someone cheaper, BT have just raised their 12 month linesaver yet again to £183 which I think is extortionate so any recommendations would be good, I want unlimited anytime calls included in the package as I am home all day and up to 17mb download speed which is what I have at the moment.0

Unfortunately there are no calls included in those packages but having checked the Sky Broadband package, they charge £8 per month for an unlimited anytime package and it does include free BB for one year. Just need to check because the cost it says is £24 but after £34 but doesn't say after what, I presume the first 12 months but is this the total cost of BB and line rental monthly cost. I need to check but seems on the face of it a good deal as I am paying £24.45 per month BB with an additional £149 I paid in advance for line rental and that is increasing to £183 in September on the Line Rental Saver.0

Does that apply if you have moved house and took the two packages out together - line rental and BB ?
thanks !0 -
Depends on the tariff: line rental is 12m, broadband can be 18m or 12m. Check your t&c's or online account. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I will be leaving BT at the end of my contract as the service that I have had from them in the past few weeks has been atrocious, but have been advised by them that I will be charged £30.00 regardless, for Openreach to remove broadband from the line in the exchange.0

Yes £30 is correct .
Who are you moving to another BT Or supplied ISP ?0
