Is it true what I have heard that BT are this month going to add and charge for BT sport to every account whether the people want it or not?

I've opted out. I believe you will get BT Sport Lite free but as I never watch it it won't affect me.

    How do I opt out?

Isn't it wrong they are imposing it on people?

It might be a good idea to read the article that EssexExile linked to for the answer to at least one of those questions.

Looks like it's an 18 month contract not a year. Have a look at post 3 here...

I have the Entertainment Plus package (£10 per month) as part of a contract negotiation made in June. My latest bill (July 28, paid August 05) shows BT Sports Pack at £13.50 with a £13.50 discount, so net £0.00 covering the period 28 Jul - 27 Aug 15.

PS - my contract negotiation was for 12 months, not 18 months.

I had no interest in paying for BT Sports but when I extended my Broadband contract they simply could not understand why I did not want the "free" BT Sports Lite. I didn't want it because a. I would not watch it and b. I don't want to have to keep an eye on when they next change the ground rules. It took a lot of persistence but is now off the bill so I am saving £0 per month!

if everyone opted out bt would have to rethink its ludicrous decision to put even more money in soccer players pockets

Jeez I wish I'd thought of that when I phoned them up to cancel. I have been "saving" £13 per month and will presumably "save" £5 per month with Sports Lite that I'll possibly use two or three times per year.....

I didn't even realise I was tied into a new contract just because I cancelled the BT Sport package? They didn't make any mention of that when I was on the phone, though I was more interested in getting them to remove the additional £3 they've been charging me for my internet for the past six months.

If it wasn't for the fact that my Fibre connection with them has been very solid, I'd be looking elsewhere.
