Csa for two children to two mothers

Hi there I recently seperated from my partner and have a 20 month old baby with her. I watch him 4 days out of ten as she works shifts and days when she has nights out etc. I also have a 9 year old daughter I have over every 2nd weekend and I watch her after work every weds Thurs. I pay the babys mother 290 a month. I pay the 9 year olds mother 240. I earn 588 a month. I have used the calculator but it doesn't cover my situation. I have also read threads on here but nobody watches their children as much as I do. I have the baby overnight + 156 days a year and 60 nights a year. Can anyone help. I know im paying too much but I want to know for sure as both are threatening me with going through csa if I alter anything.

Hi there can you tell me that when you are watching your kids that they are staying overnight at yours or are you watching them at your ex partners houses please thanks?0

The house is unsold and I pay half the mortgage still. I watch my baby boy at hers when shes working and eventually will keep him overnight at the place im staying at. I keep my daughter overnight every Fri sat every 2nd weekend.0

Is £588 per week your gross or net salary?
On what basis do you pay now, private arrangement or CSA/CMS?
Why are you paying half of mortgage if you don't live in house? How much is it and is it in addition to child support? How long has this been the case and is it for sale?0 -
The minimum you will be expected to pay in CM is 16% for 2 children using the new gross scheme which is £94.08.
Split that down the middle so £47.04 each parent. However, you can then reduce that by how often you have the children overnight at your house. The baby if you do not have overnight at yours then you should continue to pay £47.04 per week to that mum.
The child you have overnight would be reduced by 1/7th so deduct £6.72 leaving £40.32 to pay to that mum.
These are the minimum amounts, you can of course pay more if you wish.0 -
Wow. You are paying more than £443 over the odds for your two children and half the mortgage for the house that your ex and your baby boy live?
If it was me I would be bringing the CSA in and having the matter made formal as a starting point. Then if you want to pay more some weeks/months purely on a voluntary basis you can. As for the property I would sell asap to get rid of the millstone round your neck.
Maybe when all of that is sorted you will have more money available for you to start a new life.0 -

the calculations in the post above yours are weekly..so would come to around £380 per month instead of the £530 currently being paid
It is a recent breakup so I assume the OP has not discussed with the 9 year olds mother that the payments would need to change now there are 2 children to pay for0 -

Yes, sorry, those calcs are weekly as the OP posted his weekly wage.
Re mortgage payments, if his name is on the mortgage and it falls into arrears then it will affect his credit worthiness. He needs to have a good chat with that mum as they could agree to sell the property and split equity. equally, she could get a order to remain in the property until the child is 18.0
