Hi there have been offered iphone 5s, pay £39 for the phone and then £31.99 a month on 2 year deal for unlimited texts and calls and 5gb data.
This is from T-Mobile as upgrade as have been with them for a while. does this sound a good deal or any other suggestions?

Loyalty costs nothing nowadays. The best deals are for new customers, not upgrading.
Assuming that you really need unlimited minutes, as a new customer you can get the same without any upfront cost and with £31.50 TCB cashback instead:

I am not saying that this is the best deal and am pretty sure that better deals can be found.
  • Do you really need a new phone? If not, consider SIM only. Indeed you might look at buying a 5S directly from Apple (on finance if necessary), which allows you to shop around for the best value SIM only deal.

Also Apple purchased phones seem to have less issues with warranty work than those bought through a phone shop/network.

thank you for your replies. I had a quick tot up to buy phone outright and a sim only deal but it seemed more expensive. She needs a decent amount of data which bumps the price up. I did find the exact deal with mobilephonesdirect but with a free handset and £30 cashback from quidco. I asked EE to pricematch but they wouldn't. I've gone with them anyway because I would have to port out the number to a different provider and then port back to EE so decided I didn't want the hassle which I know isn't very moneysaving!
