Contract Phone to Pay as You Go

I am about three weeks away from the end of my Vodafone 18 month contract. I have recently got a mobile for my job, so I don't need a contract anymore, but am hoping to keep my existing phone on a PAYG deal with the same number. Does anyone know if Vodafone will let me do this, and should I contact vodafone now or do I have to wait for another 3 weeks to ask?

Thanks.

I'm not sure, but if no one replies after me, phone Vodafone and ask. :)

vodafone you have to give 30days notice in writing sent off by recorded delivery. Nip in to the shop and ask for a letter, they give you it you just fill it in. I know this as I'm in the process of doing this myself

    Hi Now33

All you need to do is write in to

    Vodafone Ltd,
    PO Box 549,
    Banbury,
    Oxon.
    OX17 3ZJ

giving 30 days notice you want to move your number to pay as you go.

if you ring vodafone customer service and advise them that you want to end your contract you will probably still have to give thirty days notice in writing, but you will be referred to the retentions team who will try to talk you out of leaving and offer you a deal. when you tell them that you still want to leave they will ask if you will keep your vodafone number as pay as you go .

If you request a PAC code then activate that with another network then your contracts ends once its been activated.

Still you'll get calls from retentions - in 3 days I've had 7 missed calls and 2 which I've answered!
  • Now33,

Did exactly the same thing with vodafone, moved from a contract with them to payg; as other posters have said, they still require the notice to end the contract, other than that I remember the process being very easy and seamless... hope you find the same... :D
