How can I get rid of my house?

It looks lovely, nice and neutral.
Could I ask what the kitchen window looks out onto? I wouldn't normally suggest blocking a window view but it doesn't look like the best view?
I might be inclined to lose the dining room picture. To be honest, I would use that room as a study, it does look quite small?
The above are not really criticisms, just me really nit picking.
Is the property on Rightmove? I wasn't aware of homesonview, so maybe it isn't getting the best marketing that it could?
The ad states 'No Offers'. Is this set in stone? If you are desperate to sell, would you not be willing to negotiate?
Edit: Took a while posting - some questions already answered! I wouldn't necessarily say to lower the price, but to remove the 'No Offers'.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Have a look on www.nethouseprices.com to see if any similar properties have been sold nearby recently and whether your asking price is comparable.
Usually if there is no interest in a property there is either something horrendous nearby which is putting people off or the asking price is too high.0 -
House looks lovely, nice fireplace, spacious rooms the only room that lets the house down a little I think is the bathroom. If I was you I would remove the pic off the net and let the viewers fall in love with the rest of the house before they see it.
Also DH who worked in blackpool for years said the road in parts is a little scruffy (pubs cash converters etc) but there is nothing you can do about that.0 -
It is hard, but you can't make your house worth what you want it to be worth
You should sell it at a sensible price and get the rest as an unsecured loan if you need to. Then you become a proper MSE like lots of us (I'm a bit rubbish actually) and get yourself out of debt totally.
It's better than trying to meet those huge repayments indefinately and being in denial about the value of the house
And the additional stress! Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I agree with Doozergirl, better to sell short of what you actually need if it means a sale, and then set about paying off the difference, which would be so much easier with much lower outgoings.Gone ... or have I?0

Have you looked at the opposition?
Over 100 3 bed props on RM at £200-225K - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/search.rsp?lo_u=168&lo_n=Blackpool%2C+Lancashire&se_c=1&poi_e=0&poi_n=0&nh_st=1&stc_s=false&mi_b=3&mi_p=200000&ma_p=225000&tr_t=buy&pa_n=1&eventsubmit_dosearch=1&initial_search_time=1187472031138. Some look just as nice, though I'm not that clued up with the areas of Blackpool these days but I'd guess you're just behind the pleasure beach?
As you need £225K I really don't know what to suggest. The interior looks great and you can't move the location so it may simply be that it is over-priced for that market at this time.0 -
What a beautiful house!!
Only one thing wrong with it for me.....I agree with dmg that the dining room is small, it looks quite dark too. Is it possible to use one of the reception rooms as a dining room and maybe set the (now) dining room up as a study/office?
I'd also dress the kitchen window up abit.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I really like your interior - very neutral and if it was near me I would definitely be booking a viewing - I especially love your lounge. The only thing that looks a bit odd is your dining room - blue is a very strange colour for a dining room and it makes it look rather narrow - I would give it a lick of white all over to make it seem brighter and bigger. I would allow get a few £1 terracotta (can't spell it!) pots from B&Q, buy a few small connifers and plant them around your front garden at the front of your house as it looks very "concretey".
What are those containers near your bedroom window???? I would get rid of those for the pics as they look a bit lost! Also ditch the bin from your bathroom for the pic as it again looks a bit odd.
But I love your reception rooms and your kitchen (a nice green plant with look good in front of the window or by the side of the kitchen).
I also don't think the text sells it very well - the bathroom? State what is in it - it looks a very big bath, is it a 3 piece or 4 piece bathroom etc...
What about a picture of your garden? Most buyers will be looking for this!
Good luck - it will sell but Rightmove is essential - so make sure however you sell it, it appears on there.0 -
With respect to the Ann-Maurices of the board - There's nothing wrong with the house! There's only so much you can do and in my opinion it's done - and there's nothing else to do. It looks beautiful; if you wanted to paint the dining room when you moved in, it probaby wouldn't kill you.
That style of house is simply stunning also. Better looking in real life. It looks like the loans helped you create a lovely home. What a shame for you

I have no idea who Ann-Maurice is.....aside from that I thought the OP said "Have a look at my house if you want, and feel free to give me suggestions."
Isn't that what we have been doing? I certainly wasn't saying there was anything wrong with the house, merely pointing out what *might* need changing.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
