  • In addition to my previous post. I paid my £95 and set up a Direct Debit for £95 monthly payment. I received an ID card and access to their 'Admin Area'. There were approximately 15 offers of investigation work, as they suggested I applied for 1 different case each day.
Again as suggested, although not essential, I began the internal, non accredited course. I passed 2 modules with ease.
After 10 days of no work being offered I became suspicious, I searched on various media sites for information. I found a worrying stream of complaints and concerns from quite a few people from a wide geographical area.
My emails to various 'Heads of Departments' were not answered or any phone calls received. It is now 3 weeks since I joined and still no work has been offered. As a result I have cancelled my DD and will not be taking any further part in this company. There is more but you can see where this is going?
  • I just caught up with this forum and the various writings. Tooba, your reference to the Radio show was helpful as I was unaware of this report ... it's a shame the gentleman referred to as the owner of the company "was called away at the last minute" as I was looking forward to hearing his defence of Q.
...but then I thought, "wait a minute" - "the owner", we where told, "was one Patricia Quinn". Confusing. Maybe she "used" to own Q and sold out, or perhaps she was actually the founder, not the owner ...or something else.

Which ever way this goes, non of it helps the reputation of Q at all as it all stacks against their name rather poorly and as for pulling out last minute..? Doesn't bode well does it?

So here's a few facts from where I sit: It all comes across well - until; the payment method gets changed with no notice, the course itself is un-accredited and is not accepted by the industry as a whole nor does it meet learning guide lines or specifications as required of the SIA, guys who claim completed course work neither receive certification nor, importantly, actual work - despite apparent contracts for specified hours and the work as displayed on the portal doesn't actually tie in with the earnings promises advertised and spoken of (unless of course the "real" work is at a higher competency level, not accessible from the entry level portal...??)

All in all being around Q, for me I'd say it's quite an uncomfortable environment, with layers of distrust and speculation. For half the price and twice the value, I wish I had paid and completed the QI Awards Level 3 Investigator and sought work from there onward.... at least the paper work would have guaranteed validity and future direction.

ps - no I'm not a "one off" visitor here - my posts can be found on the original forum and many have corresponded with me off line. PPS... Good luck with the new work K3! Good choice :-)
  • Radio 4 - 'You and Yours' 12 October 2105 @ 12:15hrs and 15:03 minutes in.

    Well worth listening to.

Make sure you listen to the bit at the end.

    This is my last post.

    Thanks JakeB!
  • I've read the threads here.
If your in any doubt as to the decency of Q just ask yourselves one question. How can anyone guarantee you work ? The business of private investigation is a narrow field with many serving it. That some firm of dodgy failed PI's can 'guarantee' you work is laughable to those of us that have been in this business for any reasonable time.
  • Do they actually guarantee work though? I have not seen the actual wording, but have the idea that people will be eligible to apply for suitable assignments at the end of the course.

  • They certainly use clever wording to infer such guarantees. A PI Agency who can generate so many enquiries to satisfy their agency clients would be making a shed load of money themselves rather than farm it out at a monthly fee.
  • It is true that many people who sign up do believe that there will be work at the end of the course, but the wording may certainly be misleading them.

Tooba, where are you? I've been waiting for your response...... you promised?!!!!
I've given you the benefit of the doubt but you've let us all down....... where were you on Radio4? You were so vocal and pro Q I thought you would be the first to stand up for them?....... Sadly it seems you were not........ nobody on the radio had a positive comment......
Bar that you still have not answered me - even though you have been on here this morning?
  • So what happened on the radio programme? I missed it.

  • Hello all,

Yes I'm one of those first time posters but only because I'm interested in the topic at hand and have just accepted Q investigations so called job offer. I stopped when they asked me to send them payment though.

I was looking to see if there was any more information on them and came across this, not what I wanted to hear really but it was expected. Can't think of many jobs at all that try to charge you a fee up front for work!!

Lots of stuff stinks about this as you all know, first alarm bell was just that their website was .net, no one uses that as a professional website for a business. They then have no interview process other than their 'checks' they carry out. Then when they do try and charge you money there's no secure page to make payment or any receipt of payment stipulating what services you're paying for. Plus the bank they use is some dodgy looking Irish outfit.

So I've emailed this bloke back and questioned that if they pay in arrears then they can accept my monthly fee in arrears as well. Sadly I don't expect any kind of a response and this just stinks a mile away of a scam. I'm sorry to hear that some of you have paid money but I don't believe you'll be getting any of that.

And tooga/tooba, can't remember your username now, I can only assume you've come in here to troll as you've not given any tangeable evidence you actually are a paid employee of Q investigations.

If any once can prove me wrong I'll be happy to listen!
