No it's not the emergency tax code. However it is a split tax code where your personal allowance is being split over one or more income streams. Do you have more than one job? Also haven't yet received my last p45 would this be needed?
You should really be looking to get this even if it's only for your own records in the end.My tax office name says Portsmouth 1 so would i need to call the tax office in Portsmouth or would any be fine? Thanks in advanced. Any help
No it's all a central number now.0 -
You should have received a new PAYE Coding Notice. Did you check the details were correct ?
You can email HMRC if you think it's the incorrect Code.. Coding Notice Query...0 -

Did you get your P45 and did you hand it in?Haven't received any coding notice should i have? Thanks.
You should do. However with only one income your tax code is wrong anyway and you're losing out on around half of your tax-free allowance. You need to phone HMRC and get this sorted. Best time is around 8am.0 -
Thanks for the quick reply still haven't received P45 from job centre should i case that up first?0

No just get on to HMRC. If you've got figures for the JSA that would help too.0

As a point of warning, getting HMRC to sort out code numbers correctly is like trying to get blood out of a stone. Over the past 7 years I have had on average 8 different codes each year. I gave up and asked to be included to do an on line return every January. Now I don't even bother with the code numbers I do my tax return every year and they either owe me or I owe them. I get a bank payment after about 6 weeks for what they owe me.
A lot less stress.I am getting the information for the year to 5th April 2015 together and will put it on the return in January.
Maybe that is an option for you?0 -

For simple tax affairs like the OP has it's a total overkill and not necessary.0 -
