Toys in shoes.

We've had a couple of pairs with the toys in and on no occasion did the assistant mention them. Was a bit of a surprise with the first pair as we had no idea they were there. IMHO they are not using them as a sales aid. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

When I was a little girl, I had some shoes from Clarks with a keyhole in

I really really really wanted a pair of those as a child, but despite all the posters claiming that they were 'available in all sizes' it was a lie and they didn't do them in a narrow fitting. I never got my Magic Steps shoes and I was very sad
eta: so it wasn't just me that was upset Callie? I completely understand your disappointment.0 -
Youngest had several pairs of these as he was growing up...several because it spanned years rather than because they were bad.
They were absolutely fine and lasted very well and believe me they got used as his feet didn't (and still don't - almost 18, not quite 5ft and still a size 4) grow at the same rate as others so we didn't get to experience the grown out of the new shoes before they had been broken in stage. His shoes were well and truly broken in and only had to be replaced yearly or if the miracle of his feet growing had finally happened.
It was a bit of a trauma though when he would misplace the car....absolute blooming nightmare if that happened. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Yep, they were the only pair that fitted DD2 once.
The shoes were fine. She was horrified by the discrimination though, wanting the car that boys got, instead of the doll! She was 6 and this has always seriously annoyed her. Future lawyer in the making ...0 -
my DD's primary school banned the toys in shoes as the kids kept getting them out and playing with them, or losing them.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

My daughter had these a few years back because they were the only ones that fit properly.
I think its a bad idea though. Kids might get upset if they lose the toy or might start fiddling with their shoes in lessons etc. Its a sneaky marketing trick and I don;t think its nice. Some kids parents might not be able to afford them and then the kids get upset.0 -
Kids in my classes through the years learn very quickly the toy stays in the shoe in school, or it migrates to my "you know you arent allowed toys in school" shelf where it sits for a while.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
