Is Ikea furnitures any good? as in quality, they seem quite cheaper than the other furniture stores.

Ive got a few bits of furniture and they are great, and well built.0

I have had a Ikea computer table, which is well made, no parts were missing when assembled and is now over 6 years old. It has survived 3 moves and think it was a super buy. 10/10 from me0

Awesome, if thats the kind of style your after. Would Ikea-fy my whole house if I could get away with it...
Come to think of it, there is not much that isn't already
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
I am not sure0 -
Has anyone got an Ektorp sofa? We are thinking of replacing ours and I am trying to convince OH but he thinks it is too cheap!:rolleyes:0

we've got two ektorp sofas with the sofabed function - super sofas ... very comfy, nice deep cushions. (take a lot of wear and tear with three small kids), the beds aren't so fantastic, but are rarely used. we bought replacement covers for both as well - haven't used them yet, but when we finally wash the original ones maybe we'll change them round ... means we can use the sofas longer.
we've got ruby red and green sofas; friends have the white one - too dangerous a colour for us.

we have ikea bedroom furniture (PAX range) and malm bed - great stuff, brought it 3 years ago just had extension built and need extra wardrobes to match and can still buy identical additions super value0

It's a thumbs up from me too! I had to redo my entire bedroom on a limited budget so I turned to Ikea, first time anyone in my family had purchased anything from there. We were really impressed - not only was it reasonably priced, but it all looks fantastic, it's great quality and was pretty straightforward to assemble.0

Tips for happy Ikea shopping.
Go as early in the morning as possible( restaurant open 8:30, store at 9:00am), preferably on a week day.
Cooked breakfast is around 95p
Never go at the weekend or a bank holiday.
Empty your car boot ready for all those goodies.
If you can pop into bargain corner first, you may get lucky, if you do haggle and you may get a bit more off.
Get an Ikea family card, gives you free tea or coffee in the restaurant.
Check what space you have available and the dimensions of your intended purchases.
Pick up the store guide, pencil and tape measure as you go in.
Good luck! That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Hi,
I've been meaning to buy some Billy shelves for my books, any good/ bad experiences? I need these to last many years...
Only for 1 year: I need a cheap desk to study in, any experiences with the ikea range?
Thanks.0 -
I had a few rooms worth of IKEA kit, It is sturdy, disposable, cheap and looks good and serves it purpose, and am now getting around to replacing everything with non flat pack Oak furniture as my tastes have changed and budget improved.
One tip, get a bit for your drill/power screwdriver thats fits the Ikea bolts, much easier than twiddling the little tool you get.0
