I noticed it started to be very slow yesterday afternoon, and has in the intervening time varied between slowish and grinding to a halt. This morning though it has been like wading through thick treacle, very very slow. I know it's the email time and there are a lot more users on the site but isn't that what the upgrade was designed to cope with?

I doubt very much that it is down to individual ISPs as my connection (NTL Broadband) to all other sites today is just as zippy as ever

It's easy enough to rule out PC trouble.

Go to google and search for any darn thing you like - just make sure that it's a new page and not one you've been to before (so you're not pulling from your history file)

If the new page comes down at the expected sort of speed...

Your PC is OK

Your Browser is OK

Your line is OK

and

Your ISP is OK

I've also found problems with getting onto this site a few times over the last couple of days. Most of the time it is OK, but increasingly it is so slow that I end up closing the page and trying later.

This is the only site I'm having problems with, so I'm pretty sure it's not an issue at my end. My connection is Zen 2Mbs.

On occasion it has been noted that the site runs slowly :rolleyes: Generally after the tip goes out.

As a practising techie I would love to inform the technical staff when this happens but it would be useful to know what they need from us rather then just "Sooooo slow" - "Like treacle" etc (not a dig at anyone making these comments BTW - I know how you feel)

So guys - heres an offer for you. If I/we notice the site running slow, what would you like from us and how do you want it (E-Mail, On a thread etc) and what do you want. (ISP, Tracert results, ping results, location, connection speed etc) - in the hope that this will give you some consistancy of information so you can pinpoint it quickly.

And if i's useful for you I will even do this on demand for testing purposes - if real life allows of course
