When mine went, I felt it. It was a huge release of pressure so even if I hadn't seen the fluid I would have known. Also the fluid keeps coming and coming (in my case for hours after they went) so it would have to be a very long bath not to see/feel it when you actually came out. As I had a heavy show which started at the same time, can't comment from first hand experience on colour, though my understanding is that it pretty colourless0

My waters popped in bed, and I felt a definite 'pop' inisde. The fluid was slightly pink in colour. As Nicki said, it does keep coming for a long time afterwards.0

You'll know, my first "popped" in the bath. To put it crudely, it is rather like an internal fart!0

Well even if I hadnt felt the 'water' running down my legs, I would have known by the INTENSE pain that followed....... labour well and truely started at that point!2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0

Apologies - but mine were green! My lovely baby boy had pooped. Unfortunately this resulted in him spending 4 days in special care as he managed to inhale it (yuk! - meconium aspirate is the proper term and he was fine) but there was no missing it. The midwife broke mine and as others have said there is a definite 'loss of pressure' type feeling. I don't think someone could not notice but we're all different and I didn't realise I was expecting till I was 5 months gone!
Actually this reminds me on the time I was on the phone to my very pregnant friend. She screamed and said 'Oh my God, my waters have broken.' I did the good friend bit - keep calm, ring your husband etc etc. Then she screamed again. 'What???' I asked. 'The dog is licking it up' she replied. Ewwwwwwwww :rotfl:0 -
never knew with my first 2, but my 3rd, was just trying to keep my 2 year old for sneeking into out bed at night due to the impending birth, so when he got up i went with him into his bedroom and settled him into bed (was toilet training also and nearly there)! anyway i fell asleep in his bed with him, and woke at about 5 am thinking 'oh no he's had an accident' got up and changed his sheets...only when the waters continued to run from me did i realise actually he hadnt wet the bed but i was in labour..little one came very quickly afterwards and was born at 9.04 am!0
