I'll give it a try then, say I clear All this debt off within a year then say a year or so later how much of an affect will these closed but defaulted accounts have on my mortgage application?

Older satisfied defaulted accounts visible on your credit file will still impact on your ability to get a mortgage; which lenders will consider you, what rate they will lend at, and the maximum ltv they'll be prepared to lend.
You'd probably need to consider using a mortgage broker at the time, as they'll be best placed to advise on which lenders will consider you based on what your file shows at the time.

But older satisfied defaults will have less of an impact than recent defaults, and much less than unsatisfied defaults.

If you might have a deposit saved and be in a position to apply for a mortgage in 2 years then I'd pay them off as soon as possible.
Pay them off before you start saving your deposit.

So the satisfied defaults I've cleared over 4 years ago (which will be 6 when I apply for the mortgage) they won't have much of an effect?

But the ones I pay off in the next year (which will be a year old by the time I apply) will have a bigger difference?
