He is trespassing. If you've suffered a loss due to his trespass then you can sue him for that loss. Remember though that you'd need to quantify that loss - you couldn't just make up a number, otherwise you'd just be like the Private Parking Companies we all loathe and despise.
PS - you might get further advice if you PM a board guide to get this moved to the Parking sub-forum.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
I tried to speak to him calmly and explain but he wasn't having it and just kept bleating on that I hadn't said please which, without wanting to be petty I had and the note also said please.
I'm not going to let this get on my nerves too much but I am going to block the space off at some point.
Why can't people who are obviously in the wrong just hold up their hands and say sorry? I would.
It p1sses me off the attitude of people who think that they can just do what there selfish self want to and sod everyone else.

From the pic, I don't think it is designed to be a parking space so you might cause yourself more hassle if you pursue him over parking there e.g. by reporting to council. Normally the change in surface indicates the change in ownership - sometimes the public owned footpath is worse than the land next to it, or vice versa, but they hardly ever look the same as the council won't resurface your private land, and you wouldn't do theirs either. The path of least resistance (IMO) would be to put in a removable post or barrier as suggested earlier, so he can't park there without committing an offence (criminal damage?) which can be reported to the police. If he'd been reasonable, you could have let him park there overnight as long as he moved it when you needed him to, but some people are a bit slow on the uptake. Good luck,0

Just been speaking to a neighbour and apparently he is living in the local drugs den which explains the amount of comings and goings throughout the day.
I'm not going to antagonise these people because I've had a problem with a drug family before when I had my first house and they got nasty, got bricks through the window in the dead of night and my car smashed up by two guys with baseball bats the night after that!! Police on that occasion were UTTERLY useless.

Yup, there's the answer, spend your money on your space blocking up the open access and wait for him to trip over it and sue you for having illegal road furniture. Added points for there being a known drugs den and everyone mutters about it and does nothing about it.0

How can it be illegal road furniture if it's not on a road?0 -

Funny how all the locals know where these places are, yet somehow the Police never seem to, now what if a Policeperson were to regularly walk around the streets, and get to know everyone, and keep an eye on stuff- what a silly idea :rotfl:
. (Actually they usually do know, the one round the corner from me has been raided 3 times that I know to, once with a helicopter hovering overhead, but they never seem to find anything....)I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

This gets even easier! Go and have a word with the top dealer in the house "sort his parking and attitude out as the last thing you want is an increased police presence in the street." Hey presto, job done.0
