There's a little more to being a Shadow Minister than simply serving Corbyn.
Some of them don't!
But joking aside, although that might be true of an actual minister, the only real requirement of a shadow minister is that they understand their brief so they can ask intelligent, difficult questions that pose problems for the actual minister they shadow. I've seen very little of that from any of Corbyn's shadow cabinet, and many many examples where they are so hopelessly incompetent they don't even understand basic figures etc. Those people (the most obvious example being Abbott but there are plenty of others) are still in post, because they meet the only criteria that matters to Corbyn: unquestioning obedience.0 -
More condemnation of the forced resignation of Sarah Champion:

Amina Lone, the co-director of the Social Action and Research Foundation, said the former Equalities shadow minister should not have been asked to leave Jeremy Corbyn's front bench team last night.
Other MPs have also spoken up in defence of Ms Champion, including Labour's Barry Sheerman, who wrote: "I don't understand the forced resignation of Sarah Champion and nor will my constituents".
Last night critics accused Mr Corbyn of "stalinist" tendancies after it emerged that the Labour leader had asked for Ms Champion's resignation.
Trevor Philips, the former chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, told The Telegraph: "I am absolutely gobsmacked, this is not the Labour party I know, even in the darkest days I don't remember people being asked to stand down for trying to represent their constituents, which is what I think Sarah Champion was trying to do.
Oh dear Jeremy Corbyn.0 -
^^^^^^^^^^ Absolutely
nothing wrong with what she said. It is true, and it's a huge problem. Nearly all muslims /pakistanis / asians or however they are described are good, genuine people.
But a significant minority are very evil indeed, and it needs to be said.
Equally nearly all 'white' people are good, genuine people, but a significant minority are not...but largely their hatred is towards jews/ LGBT etc.
Both need to be called out.0 -
Yes Corbyn gagging free speech like this doesn't exactly sit with the image he likes to project of somebody who "talks to everybody".
It's enlightening just how spineless the moderate Labour MPs and supporters turn out to be. Barely a word from any of them, they're either too terrified to speak or too busy sucking up.
Of course the Corbynistas/Momentum thugs would never speak out on this kind of thing. But just imagine their outrage if May dared to sack a cabinet member for speaking out on topics like child abuse.0 -

Without trying to start another argument with you Fella, there is a difference between removing someone from the shadow cabinet and suppressing their free speech. The existence of party whips kind of proves the point...0 -

Evidence would suggest that the presence of party whips in this Labour Party is a complete waste of time.0 -

Are you saying allowing girls to be raped is Labour policy and Champion was removed from the Shadow Cabinet not to shut her up but for disobeying the party whip?
Even if that was a defensible proposition, it would still leave Corbyn open to the charge of hypocrisy given that he's voted against the party line over 400 times. Apparently Corbyn is allowed to rebel against his party when it comes to renewing Trident but Champion is not allowed to rebel against the party when it comes to stopping young girls being raped.0 -
