Umm - London is very firmly left of centre politically in all other elections, there is no way a mainstream Tory politician would win in London. Boris was far enough left to take enough centre ground labour votes (when standing against a left wing labour candidate) to win. Would he have won against Tessa Jowell?
Be interesting to see if Zac Goldsmith can repeat the feat.I think....0 -
You honestly believe that there is a equivalence between the PM meeting the Head of State of another country and an obscure back bencher meeting with terrorists and appearing on state networks of theologian states?

Ok Clapton .....so using your unerring foresight whose going to win the 3pm at Kempton because I want to retire?
I can't see the future any more than you.
However Corbyn has had a landslide victory by the vote of less than 1% of the UK voters: you may think that a good indicator of the future voting intentions of the British people but I have my doubts.
Interesting, that rather than addressing the british people he uses his first speech to preach to the already converted at the TUC (note 30% of trade unionist vote Tory).0 -
Uh that would be a Yes! since it's the head of a state that are the biggest sponsors of salafist jihadism around..... including ISIS, Al Qaeda and The Taliban..... all organisations known for their progressive views on women's rights etc. What was that you were saying about Jeremy's mysogyny again.

So you are saying that the State of Saudi Arabia is funding those terrorists.
Can you give some substance to your claim please?Union, not Disunion

I repeat.....what seems to be happening is he's shaking things up. I am so fed up of moribund, smug, self satisfied tory types and appreciate a 'whiff of cordite' in the air......metaphorically speaking of course:)0 -

From a source you'd welcome:-

I was just watching his speech .. A bit rambling I think.
Coming from the County of the Tolpuddle Martyrs, I am pro the right of people to form a union and think any sizeable firm that does not enable union representation on their Board is slightly daft (and disingenuous of any union not to welcome that), but I draw the line at strikes being held without proper support of union members, sympathy strike on issues outside their own work, and Trade Unions campaigning politically when their members views do not all follow those of the activists. All of these things Corbyn, it appears, supports.
Oh there were other things too, but why bother to go into them!
Not impressed at all.Union, not Disunion
