Just wanted to mention that the Democrats just lost Georgia having thrown everything at it.
But, but British progressives assured me Trump was highly unpopular;

It was a Republican hold and was until this election considered a safe seat. Point is the Democrats got close and Trump is being investigated. How does it feel to have your hard Brexit dreams disappear in a puff of smoke Conrad. Enjoying your humble pie after all your predictions went south as well? Meanwhile Macron and Merkel forge ahead and we are a laughing stock...May's hopes for a hard brexit gone!0 -

Haha, actually the point is the Republicans won.
You appear to be living in some kind of altarnate reality where you think Remain, the Democrats, and Corbyn all somehow triumphed.
The reality is that all were soundly beaten. We'll be leaving he EU and if you think it'll be some kind of "soft Brexit" dream on. We'll quit the single market & therefore the customs union.
Trump won & probably doessn't give a hoot about all the angry tweets or the protests.
And as for Corbyn, here's a tip. Go knock on No 10 Downing street. Bet you it's not him who answers the door.

The "rich" include the Labour party leader. So how many photos have you seen of him donating new clothing or toiletries to people who were affected by the Grenfell tower fire? All I saw were photos of him with victims no private visits there photographs of traumatised people with him in them. That is not the behaviour of a "decent" person which is how I kept hearing him described.0

You and I have very different definitions of 'soundly' then!'I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my father. Not screaming and terrified like his passengers.' (Bob Monkhouse).
Sky? Believe in better.
Note: win, draw or lose (not 'loose' - opposite of tight!)0 -

All three votes were first past the post. Remain, the Democrats and Corbyn all came second.
Coming 2nd by more than a million votes in a two-horse race is a sound beating.0 -
Corbynista ejected from QT audience
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/06/23/think-leave-david-dimbleby-ejects-corbynista-audience-member/
A typical foaming at the mouth Corbynista, incapable of doing anything more than shouting "tax the rich" when the panel tried to talk.
Interesting how loud the cheers were when he was told to leave. And that's from a QT audience!0 -
Just got off the phone to a new enquiry, one of several I've had recently that are left wing (I find out early on through idle banter), that are keen to find ways around income tax or CGT and Stamp Duty on rental property.
I just cant resist toying with them and said again to this one 'oh yes we all applaud the sentiment taxes must rise to give Nurses a pay rise, just as long as someone else foots the tax bill'. 'We're all oh so compassionate in public, not so in private eh'.
BTW I know early on in the call these people are not going to be earners for my business hence why I don't mind toying and being cheeky with them. One benefit of getting older is I just don't care!!0 -

You are deluded Fella. To go from an overall majority in the hope of a landslide and end up with a minority Govmt dependent on the DUP is in no way a victory. Even Tory Central Office acknowledges that. If Labour etc were so soundly beaten why has the Queens Speech been neutered? Why is Hammond talking far more now? Why have 30 Tory MP's written to May and told her they will not support a Brexit without access to the single market. The right wing loons have been stuffed and the legislation May wanted to enact has gone. The Austerity arguments have been shown to put peoples lives at risk because of cutbacks. The narrative has changed and let me make it simple for you...it aint getting more favourable towards May.0 -

Yeah right....about as believable as your predictions over the last few months. Have a word with yourself and stop telling porkies!0
