That's a lot compared to the UK average, but not impossibly so. It's a common salary in the south-east. It's what pays for the houses after all.
That is not the top 1% of earners. It is the top 1% of income tax payers.0 -

Splitters!Jeremy Corbyn urged to intervene in Momentum's feudShould Corbyn refrain from wading in, Lansman still retains the ability to shut down Momentum, taking its valuable maillist with him, and starting again from scratch. However, the so-called “nuclear option” would mean crippling the left in its internal battles with the Corbynsceptics ahead of crucial clashes about conference delegates and parliamentary selections.

Trotskyist factions seeking to take over Momentum, member claims
Momentum executive member suggests it is inevitable that Jeremy Corbyn will be abandoned by some factions if he is not ‘ideologically pure enough’Sharp divisions have emerged within Momentum, the grassroots organisation that supports Jeremy Corbyn, following reports of an attempted takeover by Trotskyist and factional groups, an executive committee member has claimed.
Momentum’s women’s officer has written a blog claiming that members of the Alliance for Workers’ Liberty and others are seeking to wrest control from its founder, Jon Lansman. Laura Murray, who is also a Labour shadow cabinet adviser, has claimed that ultimately, some activists will try to force Momentum to abandon Corbyn and turn to another leftwing organisation.

In today's newsAlastair Campbell has thrown his weight behind a fundraising appeal by centre-left grouping Labour First as it aims to counter the “factionalism” of Momentum.
Campbell, a former media chief to Tony Blair, issued a message of support to Labour First as it moves closer to reaching its £40,000 target to appoint an organiser.
“If you think Labour needs to be a broad-church that cares about winning, consider making a donation to @labour_first”, he wrote on Twitter.
It is the latest show of support for the Labour First campaign, which last week revealed plans to raise funds to recruit a paid organiser to resist the Corbynistas when a series of conference delegate votes kick off in January.

A poll has placed Labour at its lowest point in seven years, just hours after the party was beaten into fourth place by Ukip and the Liberal Democrats in a by-election.
The YouGov survey Tory 42 per cent, Labour on 25 per cent, 17 points behind - the Lib Dems gained two points to hit 11 per cent, and Ukip lost two points, landing on 12 per cent.
