Complete rubbish and read my response to Gadget. Now is Clapton going to APOLOGISE?

Do you not openly support Messers Corbyn and McDonnell? I guess you are in the closet then.

I DON'T THINK Clapton WILL APOLOGISE ANY TIME SOON. If you don't want to be called a supporter of terrorism, don't support people that support terrorism.

I think you missed the bit above where I said I don't recognise that characterisation of them?

So you're saying that you don't support Mr Corbyn and Mr McDonnell. Is that right?

Or are you trying to claim that Messers Corbyn and McDonnell don't support the IRA?

I have no way of knowing if the first statement is true or not. I can say without qualification that both people have said things in support of the IRA. Mr McDonnell even apologised for doing so!

I get the impression that Clapton is not going to apologise. This could go on a while.
Left is never right but I always am.
  • You can support anything and still be principled. Clapton, you seem to be a bully in your internet persona. No wonder you hate Corbyn, who is the decent opposite.

Who, frankly, gives a toss about the IRA in 2015? The same people who presumably are gleefully resurrecting the reds under the bed panic from 1985.

Corbyn and McDonnell's position is abundantly clear, and it is not one of support for the IRA. Even if it was, it is so utterly irrelevant to modern life and the actual worries normal people have that it scarcely seems worth mentioning.

Completely expected this response. I'm not interested in your bigotted views of these people. All you ever do is repeat the same mantra again and again as a distraction from dealing with challenges made to you. I think you are totally ignorant of the issues. Attempts to enlighten you lead to repeat responses of the same points.... so the argument/debate does not progress.

Now again are you going to apologise to me for calling me a terrorists fellow traveller?????

    McDonnell comments in 2003 were

“It's about time we started honouring those people involved in the armed struggle. It was the bombs and bullets and sacrifice made by the likes of Bobby Sands that brought Britain to the negotiating table. The peace we have now is due to the action of the IRA.”

there is no question that to any decent and principled person that

    1. this statement shows clear, unambiguous support for the IRA
    2. this shows clear support for IRA killing innocent children, pregnant women and men with bombs and bullets
    3. there is no question, that this is anything other than clear support for one side; it can't conceivably be interpreted as an even handed comment designed to reconcile the two sides of the dispute in NI
    4. this is an appalling insult to the victims and friends and family of the victims of IRA violence

Linking the discussion to Black&Tans, Bloody Sunday, Glennane Gang (maybe remember Drogheda too) etc is irrelevant to the support of the IRA killing innocent people and is the typical distraction tactic of apologists, sympathisers and fellow travellers.

The wish for a socialist united Ireland is equally irrelevant to bombing and killing.

Combining my remarks above with your total refusal to even acknowledge the well known support of Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott for the IRA causes me to regret not being firmer in my condemnation of your views.

It is an arguable point that one can support any vile cause and be principled.
However Corbyn refuses to discuss his (either former or current) views on the IRA : this I find hard to called principled.

    Whose sock puppet are you?

Some people do. There's still a divide. Along with lots of unanswered questions.

Nevertheless I completely condemn Brighton, Birmingham, Manchester, Warrington bombs etc etc.

And what are your feelings towards those people that think these actions were necessary for peace, and who support those who carried out these acts? How can you condemn the acts while supporting and defending those who feel they were justified?
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.
