LG G3 or SAMSUNG Galaxy S5

Hello there, I posted not that long ago asking about possible replacement phone for my iphone 4. Was complaining about its battery and general slowness.
Well now to top it off its power button now doesn't work so I can't manually lock the screen or turn it off!
So had another look at phones. I want a decent one that's Speedy, nice screen, decent battery life and good camera.
Now I've struggled to find a phone that does all of those. For instance originally I was considering Xperia Z3 compact, but its camera does not fare well in comparison reviews.
I'm now leaning towards the S5 because it seems to be an excellent allrounder and a nice camera. Currently £299 at Argos.
However the G3 can be had for £245. My issue with it is that it's battery life is meant to not be quite as good due to the quad HD screen. To be honest I think the pixel density on the 1080p S5 is more than needed anyway. My iphone has 100 less pixels per inch and it's perfectly sharp.
Also the camera (although with fancy dual flash and optical stabilisation) just doesn't take as good photos in average conditions. Not sure about buttons on the back either.
I wanted some other opinions though on the two phones. Which would you go for?

I have read negative impression about Xperia. Bad camera and weak phone.
However, both LG and S5 have the same processor Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801, while the camera is better in S5 (16 Mpix against 13 Mpix of G3). Same GPU.
Sincerely I have a Samsung S4 and I think it is one of the best phone. For that price is perfect.
I would go for S5.0 -
I would go for the S5. Being water resistant, slightly smaller and with a better camera (even ignoring megapixels).
The higher GB storage models of G3's have an extra GB of RAM which is nice but i still don't think it would sway me to have one over the S5All your base are belong to us.0 -
The G3 for me, the screen is beautiful and has very thin bezels0

G3 also, its just a nicer looking phone over the tired looking sg5 and of course its a lot cheaper.
btw im guessing the £245 for the g3 is from amazon? as they have one of the best no quibble returns in the uk youll have nothing to lose to see if the lg g3 is for you.0 -
I've got a G3 and really like it having moved from a Galaxy S3. Samsun in their infinite wisdom removed the FM radio after the S3 (although I don't think Apple ever had them).
The picture quality of the camera is excellent, the screen is big without being much bigger than the Samsungs due to it's tiny bezel, it takes and SD card and you can replace the battery. You'll get used to the buttons on the back in no time.
However, it doesn't have quite as good signal reception as the S3 did - and could take it's time reconnecting to the network (after going through a tunnel on the train or something) - so bare that in mind if you live in an area with patchy reception.0 -
Difficult choice but if after big screen then lg3 good, orelse s5 is a nice phone too.I really liked s4 too due to its size and never had issues but now using z ultra which is awesome.0
