What to do with a second harddrive?

As stated a few weeks ago, I finally got a new pc. This is the first time I've had a second drive in my pc. 250gb ssd for the boot drive and 1tb wd black drive as the second
At first I thought this would be convenient but the second drive is just a big blank empty space. Is there anyway to organise the second drive so it is similar to C drive. I.e Program (86x), User files etc.
Thank you.

create a couple of directories on in , music , films , photos , then if you state the operating system we might be able to tell you how to set the default save to "d:/vidios , etc0

Windows 7 64bit0

ok , are you going to upgrade to win 10 in the near future ?0

Just create some folders you think might be useful on the second drive and put appropriate files in those folders. You can do what you like with the space and put any of your files on there. Leave all Windows files/folders where they are.At first I thought this would be convenient but the second drive is just a big blank empty space. Yeah, I agree with Freddy. Create some folders! When you're looking for media files, you can find them in
/NameOfFolder .
In this way you do not have to go crazy!
@freddy: what do you think of win 10? I used it for a pair of days. I can't understand it. Horrible0 -
I found that I needed to install classic shell (menu) and reset a few apps to open with the older versions , but it is defiantly smoother/faster than win 80

No.create some folders you think might be useful on the second drive
I can create folders but the downloads and saves default to the C drive. I dont want to have to spend my time manually dropping files in the secondary drive.
Plus, what is my most annoying is there is no Program Files directory so if i install a program on the second drive I cant access the files if I need to.0 -
PS , in win 10 all settings/system/storage is a simple toggle to set saved file locations0

ok create a folder called downloads , when you download , don,t just say "save" , click save as , and point it to d/downloads
programme files , correct they have to be on c: , d: is for files and data , not programmes0 -
You could set up a .cmd file (or use backup software) to automatically back up your data to the second drive nightly. It would give some protection against the C: drive failing.0
